OUR SERVICES

We help our patients by offering…

HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT

We are specialists.

We don’t rotate from a broad menu of other aesthetic services and don’t offer permanent makeup or microblading as a side job.

We have decades of experience in our specialty.

As a Lifetime Member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, we devote many hours every year to continuing education and provide up-to-date techniques. We never scrimp on quality and use only the very best industry approved and regulated products.

We believe information is power that gives you the ability to make informed decisions.

We are extra thorough with all of our pre and post-procedure details and instructions, so you know what to expect from every step of the process. We don’t like surprises and we are certain you don’t either (unless it’s coming home to some lovely flowers and someone made you dinner!)

Let me tell you a bit about my journey…

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is “How did you get started doing what you do”?

I have had a passion for all things “beauty” related since I was a very young girl. After a try at nursing school, which back in those days did not even have options for the aesthetic medicine of today, where a trained nurse could become an expert in cosmetic treatments like Botox, fillers and lasers, I turned to the cosmetology field.  This allowed me to utilize my creative and artistic talents to help people improve their appearance with makeup, hair color and styling and skincare. I did not start that career until I was almost 30 years old, and it was the best decision of my professional life.

When Permanent Cosmetics began to gain traction in the early 1990’s, there were only a small handful of pioneers exploring the techniques and options for applying cosmetic tattoos for eyebrows, eyeliner, and lip color. The early days of PMU (permanent makeup) saw an elite and somewhat secretive application to the wealthy and the famous. It was much like when someone had a facelift – it was very hush-hush and not something anyone wanted others to know they had done. Training was hard to find, as so many of the artists were new to the field themselves.

It took me about four years of studying with various trainers, attending group classes and meeting other artists, to really get a foothold and see that I was going to focus and then thrive on dedicating my skills exclusively to PMU.

The one area of my career that always felt missing was that option to incorporate my previous medical training and experience. By the time aesthetic medicine started becoming mainstream, I was already a busy salon owner and a mom, so going back to school to revisit the nursing degree was just not practical. Soon after adding PMU to my service menu, medical tattooing was starting to become an option for breast cancer reconstruction patients to have the areola/nipple complex restored. I was so excited about learning this skill and took every class I could find. At that time, most breast surgeons did not even know this was an option and women were left with reconstructed breasts that looked like a Barbie doll – a nice breast mound thanks to the implants, but no areola or nipple.

I sold my salon, got out of the cosmetology field, and became a full-time practitioner of cosmetic and medical tattooing. Today I have done thousands of procedures, and there is literally not a body part, male or female, that I have not tattooed to help overcome the physical aesthetic challenges of surgeries, injuries, burn scars and congenital defects. Add to that the tens of thousands of eyebrow, eyeliner and lip color procedures that have helped my clients to look their best, have the daily ease of less makeup application and enjoy an active lifestyle, and I can truly say that I am among the lucky ones. I have a career that feeds my passions, helps others, continually challenges me, and has never once felt like “a job”.

Outside of work, I have a serious passion for cooking and feeding the people I love, international travel at every opportunity, and spending time with my husband and family.

Credentials and professional recommendations are everything.

Sadly, the permanent makeup industry is not as regulated in some states as it should be. We adhere to the strictest standards of licensing, sterile practices, and client safety- even above and beyond what is “required” in California.  We are recognized by leading physicians and other health and beauty practitioners as leaders in our field and they consistently refer their valued patients to Newport Permanent Makeup.

Certified Permanent Cosmetic Professional (CPCP)

We hold certificates of advanced education that are updated yearly and proudly hold the title of Certified Permanent Cosmetic Professional (CPCP). This means we have passed rigorous testing and requirements to meet the only globally recognized certification process in the industry.

Licensed Facility & Safe Environment

Our facility is licensed and inspected yearly to ensure the safest and most sterile practices. We are also kind of clean freaks and work hard to create a clinical, yet warm and welcoming environment.

DEBBIE MILLER’S CREDENTIALS

Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals

After over 40 years working in both the medical and aesthetic arenas, I have become a seasoned practitioner with over 23 years dedicated exclusively to cosmetic and medical tattooing, I have encountered virtually every skin type, ethnicity, and complexity of cases possible.

There is no short route to experience. In addition to my fundamental training in permanent makeup, I have spent hundreds of hours over the past two decades in advanced training and continuing education by some of the most well-respected and prominent artists in the industry.

However, certificates of achievement and attendance at classes are not enough on their own. It takes time, dedication, practice, and a passion for one’s craft to become an expert. This has never been my job, it has always been my true calling and a gift to be able to use my skills and experience to significantly change lives every day.
