Healing Guide For LiFT Saline Removal
LI-FT® Saline Tattoo Removal
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe exceptional results begin long before the procedure and continue well beyond it. Every treatment is individualized, and every client deserves to feel informed, supported, respected, and cared for throughout the healing journey. Education is an essential part of achieving beautiful, lasting results.
A Personal Welcome
Thank you for choosing Newport Permanent Makeup.
Whether your procedure is cosmetic or restorative, I consider it a privilege to be part of your journey. Every treatment I perform is customized to the individual sitting in front of me, and I never lose sight of the trust my clients place in my hands.
Over the past 27 years, I have learned that beautiful results come from more than technical skill. They come from careful planning, meticulous technique, thoughtful aftercare, and a partnership between artist and client.
This guide brings together the knowledge and experience I have gained over nearly three decades of practice, along with the same guidance I share with my clients every day. Please remember that every person heals differently. If you ever have a question or simply need reassurance, I encourage you to call or text. I am always happy to help.
With gratitude,
Debbie Miller

Why Aftercare Matters
Your procedure is only the first step. The way your skin heals over the next days and weeks plays an important role in your comfort, skin integrity, pigment retention (when applicable), and your final result. Please follow these instructions carefully and contact me if you are unsure about anything during the healing process.

LI-FT® SALINE TATTOO REMOVAL AFTERCARE
The Goal During Early Healing
For LI-FT® removal, the early healing goal differs from cosmetic tattoo aftercare: keep the treated area clean, open to air, and as dry as possible while the scab forms and releases naturally.
✦ KEEP CLEAN • OPEN TO AIR
• Keep the area clean and open to the air. Do not cover with a Band-Aid or other dressing unless I specifically instructed you to protect the area from clothing.
• Avoid touching the area. If contact is necessary, wash your hands exceptionally well first.
• Blot with the provided Hypertonic Saline Home Care Wash 3–4 times daily using a clean cotton makeup-remover pad. Blot—do not rub. This is most important during the first 72 hours, then continue daily to keep the area clean.
• Do not use ice. The lifting process relies on normal lymphatic activity.
💧 KEEP DRY • NO SOAKING
• Do not soak the treated area. You may shower normally, but avoid direct spray from the shower and keep the area as dry as possible.
• You may protect the area during showering with Glad Press'n Seal® plastic wrap.
• If the area becomes wet during showering or face cleansing, gently pat dry. A cool blow dryer on low for a few seconds may also be used.
! AVOID — NO EXCEPTIONS
• No immersion bathing, swimming, saunas, hot tubs, tanning, or exercise during the scabbing phase.
• Avoid direct sun exposure. If outdoors for any length of time, protect the area with a hat or other physical sun protection. Once scabbing is completely resolved, use sunscreen during sun exposure.
• Do not pick, scratch, peel, or otherwise disrupt the scab. It must fall off naturally. Premature removal can interfere with pigment lifting and may cause scarring.
♥ ITCHING & SCABBING
• Itching can be normal during the scabbing and healing phase. You may tap the area or lightly scratch around it, but never scratch directly on the removal site.
• If itching is extreme, a small amount of over-the-counter hydrocortisone may be applied with a cotton swab to the skin around—not directly on—the treated area.
• Treat the area very gently. Avoid anything that could pull, rub, soften, or prematurely remove the scab.
LI-FT® REMOVAL — AFTER THE SCAB RELEASES
✦ BEGIN HEAL CARE + REMOVAL RESCUE ONLY AFTER ALL SCABBING IS GONE
• Do not apply Heal Care serum or Removal Rescue cream until every scab has naturally and completely fallen off.
• Once all scabbing is gone, apply 1–2 drops of Heal Care serum twice daily and allow it to absorb for 1–2 minutes.
• Next, apply a small amount of Removal Rescue cream.
• Continue both products 2–3 times daily for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until your next lightening session.
♡ SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIPS
• Drink liquids through a straw until all scabbing has naturally fallen off.
• Use Tom's of Maine® or Classic Crest® toothpaste; avoid whitening or peroxide toothpastes.
• Cut food into small bites rather than biting directly into sandwiches or other foods.
• Keep mouth expressions to a minimum while the area is scabbed.
✦ TIMING & EXPECTATIONS
• Allow a minimum of 8 full weeks of healing before another lightening session. Age, skin type, and healing may require a longer interval.
• Lightening or removing unwanted pigment is a process and requires patience. Visible improvement commonly takes multiple sessions.
• The number of sessions depends on pigment saturation, implantation depth, and how much pigment must be removed for the desired result.
• Results cannot be foreseen, predicted, or guaranteed.
⚠ CALL ME, BUT SEEK MEDICAL CARE IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE
• Green or yellow pus or drainage
• Spreading or rapidly increasing redness or swelling
• Increasing pain or tenderness
• Fever, chills, red streaks, or any other signs that concern you
