Scar Camouflage

Whether from surgery or trauma, the skin forms scar tissue during wound healing. A person's DNA dictates how the scars form and to what degree.  Medical tattooing for scar camouflage may help to minimize and hide a scar, if it is flat and lighter than the surrounding skin tones.

Scars that are raised, red or purple are called hypertrophic scars and cannot be successfully concealed with skin tones pigments. Often the quality of a scar will be improved via microneedling prior to, or in place of, scar camouflage.

To be considered for a scar camouflage procedure an in-person consultation is required.
